Jade's Story
Indigenous defender Jade North made his Olympic debut as an under-23 player at the 2004 Athens Games. The 2002 Indigenous Deadly Vibe Magazine “Up and coming sportsperson of the Year” played every game in the 2004 Olympic campaign, leading the Australians to a seventh place finish. North was in impressive form, earning him a number of caps for the senior Socceroos team. In 2008 North played at the Olympics as one of three overage players (with Archie Thompson and David Carney). The Australians finished 11th at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
