Hannah's Story
Nineteen-year-old Hannah Vermeersch was the youngest member and only teenager of the Australian rowing team at the 2012 London Games. Originally aiming for the Rio 2016 Olympics, Veermeersch moved from Western Australia to Sydney to train with the women’s eight, which qualified for the 2012 Games. Making her Olympic debut in London, Vermeersch and the Australian women’s eight went on to make the A Final finishing in sixth place as the USA beat Canada and the Netherlands for the gold medal.
