Graham's Story
1964 -
Queenslander Graham Reid competed in two Olympics for Australia in men’s hockey in 1988 and 1992. At his first Games the team placed fourth, losing the bronze medal final 2-1 to the Netherlands. Four years later in Barcelona, Reid was a member of the team that won a silver medal. After winning four of it’s five preliminary matches (and drawing the other), the Aussies beat the Netherlands 3-2 in the semi-final to reach the final against Germany. An early goal to the Germans put Australia on the back foot, and despite a valiant second half they lost 2-1. Reid played more than 100 international matches for Australia during his decorated career.
