About Goran
A newly-minted Australian citizen, Goran Tomasevic played four seasons with the University of the Pacific Tigers in Sacramento, California.
He would later leave in 2013 with a career total of 202 goals with the Tigers, which put him at fourth on the all-time college list. He was named in the All-American team three times.
In the 2018 AWPL (Australian Water Polo League) season finals, Goran helped the Sydney University Lions to the gold medal in a penalty shoot-out over the Fremantle Mariners.
Goran was also named in the AWPL All-Stars team that year, and also collected the Charles Turner Medal for the Most Valuable Player of the season.
Tomasevic made his Olympic debut at the delayed Tokyo 2020 games, as part of the Australian men's water polo team. The squad would endure a tough group stage phase, playing the likes of Spain, Croatia, and eventual gold medalists Serbia. They would narrowly miss out on qualification for the knockout stage of the competition, their opening loss to Montenegro being the difference maker.
