Francesca's Story

Born in the United Kingdom to English and Welsh parents, Frankie Owen and her family moved to Australia when she was a newborn. She represented Australia at the 2005 World Championships but retired aged just 18. A trip to London last year reignited her passion to become an Olympian and she resumed training in September 2011. Owen made her Olympic debut less than a year later where the Australian team finished eighth.
