Farzad's Story

Farzad Tarash was Australia's only wrestler to qualify a quota spot for Australia to London after qualifying through the African and Oceania Qualifying Tournament. Needing to place in the top two to qualify Australia a position in the Olympics in the event, he claimed victory in the semi-final over local favourite Bentlea Oulad of Morocco to reach to the final bout where he won the silver medal.

Competing in the U/60kg division Tarash had a bye through to the quarterfinals where he went down to North Korea’s Jong Myong Ri 3-0.
