Fabrice's Story

Born in Reduit, Mauritius, Fabrice Lapierre is a long jumper who competed in Beijing 2008 finishing 16th. Lapierre won silver at the 2002 World Junior Championships and then took up a scholarship at a college in Texas. In 2006 after winning the National Championships, Lapierre went on to take bronze at the Commonwealth Games. At the 2010 World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar, Lapierre won the gold medal with a jump of 8.17 metres and then won gold at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.
