Emma's Story

Emma Randall was the youngest member, at 23, of the Opals team that won silver at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. A centre and tall forward, Randall has enjoyed club success in Australia and Europe. At the Games, the Opals won seven straight matches in Beijing, before losing to the United States in the final. It was the third successive loss the team had suffered in the gold medal final of a Games to the Americans. Randall was also a member of the Opals team which won the 2006 world title, Australia’s first senior title in basketball. Randall also played basketball in the inaugural Sydney Youth Olympic Festival in 2001.
