Dyana's Story

Dyana Calub, from country New South Wales, led-off Leisel Jones, Petria Thomas and Susie O’Neill in the medley relay at Sydney 2000 to finish second behind the United States. She swam in the individual backstroke competitions in Sydney, finishing seventh in the shorter event. Her international career was over by Athens 2004 but not before she had swum in two medley relays, at the 2001 Fukuoka World Championships and the 2002 Yokohama Pan Pacs that inflicted defeats on the seemingly invincible Americans. After those victories, Australia won gold medals in the event at Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
