Tasmanian Daniel Geale fought in the welterweight division in Sydney 2000. Before turning professional in 2004, he won the gold medal in the 67kg division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. As a professional, he at times held world titles for the International Boxing Organization (IBO), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF).
Geale is a member of the Aboriginal and Islander Sports Hall of Fame.
