Courtney's Story
Courtney Atkinson competed at his second Olympic Games in London 2012. He finished as the top ranked Australian male in 18th position. The Queenslander made his Olympic debut at the Beijing Games, finishing in 11th position.
At the age of 16 and after only one year competing in the sport, Atkinson won the U20 Junior National Title. He went on to win the event two more times, became the World Junior Triathlon Champion in 1999 and is a four time national champion. In an average training week Atkinson swims 20km, rides 300km and runs 100km. In 2010, Atkinson won his third Noosa Triathlon crown in a row, emulating that of his hero Craig Walton.
