Charles's Story

1884-1957

Charles (Boxer) Russell, from NSW, was a high-scoring winger with the First Wallabies, but he did not score in the Olympic match. He played five rugby union tests for Australia before eventually converting to rugby league. He played for Newtown and Balmain and became a dual rugby international.
