Boyd, a forward, was a key contributor for the Opals as they emerged as one of the best teams in the world during the ‘90s. In Atlanta, the team defeated Ukraine 66-56 in the bronze medal final to win Australia’s first medal in the sport. They went one better in Sydney, thrilling home fans by going undefeated in the tournament until the final, which they lost 76-54 to the United States.
