Bruce's Story
Bruce Frayne still holds the national 4x400m record with his Los Angeles teammates Darren Clark, Gary Minihan and Rick Mitchell. The quartet set a time of 2:59.70 in the Olympic final in 1984. Even the Australian silver medal winning team from the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in 2004 could not beat their time, clocking 3:00.60.
At his only Olympic Games, Frayne also competed in the 400m and reached the semi final. In 2012 his nephew Henry Frayne became an Olympian competing in both long jump and triple jump.
