Bronwyn's Story
Bronwyn Thompson is a three-time Olympian in long jump having competed in Sydney 2000 Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. Her best Olympic result was in Athens when she finished fourth in the final behind three Russians. Thompson set the Australian and Commonwealth record of 6.96 metres at the Games before improving it to 6.97m to win the Commonwealth Games in 2006. Recurring injuries hampered her jumping career while ironically she was working in her profession of physiotherapy.
