Brett's Story

At Athens 2004, Brett Lancaster combined with Bradley McGee, Luke Roberts, Graeme Brown, Peter Dawson (preliminaries) and Stephen Wooldridge (preliminaries) to give Australia its first win in the team pursuit since Los Angeles 1984. In the intervening years, the Australian teams in this event had many successes at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships, set world records and had won medals, but not gold, at all Olympic Games except Sydney. Lancaster finished fifth in the team pursuit at Sydney 2000 and fourth at Beijing 2008. At Beijing, he was 12th in the individual pursuit. He was in the champion pursuit teams at the 2002 and 2003 World Championships.
