Breanna's Story

Breanna Scott began dreaming of representing Australia on the world stage shortly after her mum and dad introduced her to gymnastics as a seven-year-old.

Her parents signed her up for Gymnastics Dance and Tumble in Sydney “to see if I would like it”.

She obviously did.

Breanna’s first elite level success came at the Australian championships in 2021, where she claimed silver on the balance beam and bronze in the uneven bars, floor and all around events.

At the 2022 Australian championships, she finished fifth in the all around, tied for fourth in the bars, fifth on the balance beam and was fourth on the floor.

Breanna was one of three debutants on the Australian women’s artistic team at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where she delivered strong routines to help the team win silver.

Breanna was part of the Australian team at the world championships in 2022 and won gold on the balance beam at the Oceania championships in 2022 and 2023.

She showcased amazing new skills at the World Cup event in Doha in 2023 to win bronze on the floor, with a score of 12.800, finishing 14th on the beam.

In October 2023, Breanna was part of the Australian women’s artistic team that booked its ticket to the Paris Olympics, securing a team place at the Artistic World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.

Needing to finish in the top 12, the team – Breanna, Georgia Godwin, Kate McDonald, Emily Whitehead and Ruby Pass – came ninth, with an incredible score of 157.896. It was the first time Australia had qualified a team spot since London 2012.

Breanna won her first Australian championships gold medal in 2024, with a score of 28.099 on the beam to pip Australian teammates Emma Nedov and Kate McDonald. She also won silver in all around and a bronze on uneven bars.
