Bianca's Story

Bianca Hammett was inspired to take up synchronised swimming in 1999, aged eight, when she saw an ad in the newspaper. She made her first national team in 2007 and competed in her first international competition the same year, the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne.

In 2012, she made her Olympic debut, finishing eighth as part of the Australian team in London.

In 2016, Hammett was appointed captain of the Australian synchronised swimming team for the Rio Games. In the team event, she helped Australia to eighth overall with 75.4333 in the free routine and 74.0667 in the technical.
