Bernard's Story

Bernard Tomic rose to prominence on the junior tennis scene when he became the youngest ever winner of the Australian Open boys division when he claimed the title in 2008 at age 16. He went on to win the US Open boys singles title in 2009. Shortly after he became the youngest player to ever win a match at the Australian Open.


He reached a career high rank of 27 in the lead up to being selected to compete at his first Olympic Games in London. Competing in the men’s singles, Tomic went down in a close first round battle with Japan’s Kei Nishikori 7-6, 7-6.
