Iranian born athlete Anoushirvan Nourian moved to Australia and obtained citizenship in February 2004, making him eligible to make his Olympic debut for his adopted country at the Athens 2004 Games. He went into the Games ranked number four in the world in his light-welterweight division, but was unfortunately defeated in his second preliminary match, losing to Michele di Rocco of Italy.
