Andrew's Story
Perseverance paid off for Andrew Palfrey in realising his Olympic dream. It took 11 years of campaigning, but in 2008 Palfrey was selected on the Beijing Olympic Team. After missing Sydney 2000 selection, Palfrey combined with Iain Murray in the star class, only to be beaten at the 2004 Olympic Team Trials by six-time Olympian, Colin Beashel and his partner, David Giles. Palfrey was 41 when he made his Olympic debut at the Beijing Olympic Games, finishing 14th with Murray in the star class.
