Andrew's Story

1968 -

Andrew Landenberger teamed with Mitch Booth to win a silver medal in sailing’s tornado class in 1996. The pair had proved their ability at both domestic and international competitions in the lead-up to Atlanta, entering the Games among the favourites for the event. The Aussies lived up to their reputation, leading the field after four races before ending the 10-race event with a silver medal. It was Australia’s best result in sailing since 1972. Landenberger has stayed involved with the sport and is a noted sailing designer.
