Amy's Story

Amy Sheehan delivered a top-10 performance for Australia when Ski Halfpipe made its Olympic debut at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Sheehan claimed the last spot in the 12-woman final with a score of 70.60 points from her ‘safety’ run in qualifying. In the final Sheehan attempted the same run that had won her bronze medals at the last two World Cups leading into the Games. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old came unstuck with a switch 720 trick mid-pipe on both of her final runs. Her final score of 40.60 points was not reflective of her ability on a good day, but Sheehan was proud of her performance regardless.

Sheehan's brother Lyndon also competed in Ski Halfpipe at the Sochi Games, competing for New Zealand.
