Alison's Story

Born in Maitland, NSW, midfielder Alison Forman was the Matildas very first Olympic captain, when she led the team in their Olympic debut at Sydney 2000 where they finished seventh.

 

Forman started every game at Sydney 2000, along with every game at the 1995 and 1999 FIFA Women's World Cups.

From her national team debut in 1989 to her retirement in 2002, she represented the country 95 times and in 2012 was inducted into the FFA Hall of Fame and the following year, was named alongside Cheryl Salisbury as co-captain of the FFA's 'Teams of the Decade'.
