Hockey Women's 12-team Tournament
Striker Alice Arnott came into the Paris 2024 Olympic squad as one of a new generation of Hockeyroos stars.
Alice, who grew up just outside the northern NSW town of Tamworth, was named player of the tournament at the Australian Under-18 Hockey Championships in 2016, scoring a total of nine goals.
She debuted for the Jillaroos, the Australian U21 team, in a series against New Zealand in 2018. Alice made regular appearances for the Jillaroos in 2019 and 2020.
She was a key member of the NSW Pride team that won the Hockey One league in 2022.
It wasn't until early 2023 Alice got her start with the Hockeyroos, when she was one of five debutants in a squad that torched India in a three-Test series.
When she graced the turf in Paris for her first game at the Olympics, it was just her fourth for the Hockeyroos. Alice missed the tournament-opening 2-1 win vs South Africa through injury, but came back for wins against Great Britain (4-0) and the United States (3-0).
A draw with Argentina (3-3) and a win against Spain (3-1) closed the group stage, with the Hockeyroos advancing into a quarter-final against China. Coached by Australian Olympic champion Alyson Annan, China prevailed 3-2 to end the Hockeyroos' campaign.
Alice was the Hockeyroos' leading scorer of the Olympic tournament, hitting home four goals across five matches.
