Adam's Story
Adam White played in his first major tournament at senior national level at the 2008 Asian Cup before becoming one of Australia's key attacking weapons appearing at 2009 Asian Championships and the 2010 Asian Cup where the side finished 5th and 7th. White’s value was again realised at the Olympic Qualification tournament when he was the second top scorer for the team as they booked their tickets to London.
Making his Olympic debut in 2012, White and the Australian team lost their first match to Argentina before knocking off hosts Great Britain in straight sets. Despite not winning a set against Hungary, the Aussies took a 2-0 set lead over Italy before the world’s sixth ranked team claimed victory 3-2. White and his teammates then pulled off one of the upsets of the Games when they defeated third ranked Poland 3-1. The Team’s final placing was ninth.
