Adam's Story
Melbourne runner Adam Basil made his Olympic debut at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games competing in the 4x100m relay. Along with Paul di Bella, Josh Ross and Patrick Johnson, Basil finished in sixth place. After a promising junior career, Basil moved to the AIS in 2000. After just missing out on selection for the Sydney 2000 Games, Basil went on to make the sprint team for the 2001 Edmonton World Championships where he the relay team to fourth place (this was subsequently promoted to bronze after the winning USA team was retrospectively disqualified due to a positive drug test).
