Career Development

The career development program is there to help Olympians figure out what they want to do with their careers.

There are specialised options for those seeking a similar job, a career shift, retraining, retirement, or starting your own business.

Accessible to all Olympians, at any time, the OOP aims to assist Olympians navigate careers by providing tailored career support.

They will give you the confidence and support to take control and decide what happens next at no cost to you.

Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course

The AOC has worked with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) to create a course, utilising Sport specific case studies, to support athlete representative members on boards and member sport board members.

The course will be provided and facilitated by the AICD, and the content will cover running a board including legal duties, governance and board composition, financial and other responsibilities including fiduciary duties and strategy and risk including best practice models.

The Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors course is designed for directors of not-for-profit companies and community organisations, Executives who report directly to a board and those who are considering accepting a directorship or aspiring to get one.

It is delivered up to two times a year, face to face, and participants are selected from an Expressions of Interest process.

A series of nationwide events aimed to upskill Australia’s current and future Olympic athletes with the skills needed to create an inspiring keynote speech which align with their personal values, showcases their life experiences, and create impact with corporate and community audiences.
