Australia’s top table tennis players are fighting for a Tokyo 2020 spot this weekend, with Table Tennis Australia holding a national selection trial event in Croydon, Victoria.

The tournament, held from Friday 17 – Sunday 19 January, will see the top 10 male and female players in the country face each of the nine other competitors in a full round-robin tournament.

The top two athletes for both the men’s and women’s event will earn auto-nomination to the AOC for selection for Tokyo 2020, in line with Table Tennis Australia’s nomination criteria.

The top two athletes will earn auto-nomination to both the Tokyo 2020 singles tournament in which Australia has earned the maximum two quota spots, and to be part of the three-person teams event.

The trials are being live-streamed and you can catch the action live here, with matches from 2pm AEDT Friday 17 January.
