The Australian Rugby Sevens Teams demonstrated their skill and determination, with strong performances across the board, with their campaign in Paris solidifying Australia’s status as one of the top countries in the world of rugby sevens.

The Men’s Rugby Sevens Team embarked on a challenging yet commendable campaign at Paris 2024, beginning their campaign with a crucial 22-14 win over Argentina, continuing to build momentum, defeating both Samoa and Kenya, securing a spot in the knockout rounds.

In the quarterfinals, Australia faced the USA, rising to the occasion and delivering a defensive masterclass that saw them shut out the Americans 18-0. However their hopes for gold were dashed in the semi-finals when they encountered a formidable Fijian side, who overwhelmed Australia with a 31-7 victory.

The Women's Rugby Sevens team had a remarkable campaign, finishing the pool stage at the top of their group with a perfect record, securing three wins out of three games.

In the quarter-finals, they faced a strong challenge from Ireland but emerged victorious with a 19-14 win. The semi-final saw them overcome the USA with a commanding 21-12 performance, demonstrating their resilience and tactical prowess.

A quarter-final victory over Ireland set up a semi-final match against Canada, with the Canadians proving too strong on the day. The bronze medal match saw the USA take the win 14-12, with the Aussies finishing fourth.

Key player Maddison Levi stood out throughout the tournament, breaking the Olympic record for most tries scored in a single Games with 14 tries, surpassing the previous record of 10.
