Oceania Mackenzie made a dazzling impression in the Women’s Boulder & Lead competition, with the 22-year-old showcasing her exceptional skills and growth since Tokyo 2020, where she finished 19th. This time, Oceania placed seventh overall, solidifying her status as Australia's most successful sport climber.

In the Boulder semi-finals, Oceania excelled with a near-perfect score of 59.7, placing third, while her performance in the Lead segment was equally strong, where she tackled the 15-meter wall with precision and endurance, earning 45.1 points. This solid lead climbing score, combined with her bouldering prowess, gave her a combined score of 104 to secure seventh.

Additionally, Campbell Harrison showcased his climbing talent with a commendable effort in the Men’s Boulder & Lead semi-finals. The 23-year-old, competing in his Olympic debut, faced a formidable challenge against the world’s best climbers.

In the Boulder section, Campbell demonstrated resilience and focus but finished with a total score of 9.4 points (2: 4.4, 4: 5.0) and despite the tough competition, Campbell’s performance in the Lead climbing segment revealed his endurance and strategic climbing skills. He scored 14.0 points on the 15-meter wall, navigating the complex route with determination and precision.

As one of only three Australians to compete in Olympic sport climbing, Campbell’s debut was marked by a spirited effort and potential. He reflected on the experience with optimism, acknowledging the challenges and the opportunity to build for future competitions.
