CYCLING: The Adelaide Super-drome will play host to Australia and New Zealand’s best track cyclists at the 2015 Oceania Track Championships from October 8 – 11.
In an action packed schedule that headlines Australia's month of cycling celebration #TrackTober, 140 Elite and Under 19 athletes will compete in 34 events across four days.
Australia’s sprint stars are set to heat up the track including 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Anna Meares, Matthew Glaetzer and Stephanie Morton, Olympic medallist Shane Perkins, plus Peter Lewis and Nathan Hart.
Rising ‘speed-stars’ Caitlin Ward, Emerson Harwood, Jacob Schmid and Braeden Dean further extend the depth of Australia’s sprinting stocks.
2011 omnium world champion Michael Freiberg and reigning national scratch champion Scott Law will feature in the men’s endurance events.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Annette Edmondson headlines the women’s field along with Ashlee Ankudinoff who is fresh from off a successful week of racing in New Zealand.
The Championships will also feature a number of Australia’s 2014 junior world champions making the step into the elite ranks, including Sam Welsford, Daniel Fitter, Alex Porter, Callum Scotson and Lauren Perry.
New Zealand’s best includes the reigning world and Commonwealth Games champion team pursuit trio of Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster andEddie Dawkins, Commonwealth gold medallist Tom Scully and medallists Marc Ryan and Aaron Gate. The women’s line up features Steph McKenzie and Katie Schofield.

WEDNESDAY 8 OCTOBER
Afternoon Session 12.30pm, Evening Session 6.00pmThere is no easing into the Championships for riders and fans, with twelve events decided on the opening day!
The power of the team sprints, the beauty of the 4000m team pursuit, the pure race against the clock of the women’s 500m and men’s 1km time trials will all feature before the night concludes with the scratch races.
Watch out for former world champions Perkins and Glaetzer, Meares and McCulloch, plus two of the NZ reigning world champion trio of Sam Webster and Eddie Dawkins.
Keep an eye on Annette Edmondson and Tom Scully in the scratch races.
THURSDAY 9 OCTOBER
Afternoon Session 12.30pm, Evening Session 6.00pmEight finals feature on day two, with all eyes on the individual pursuit and women’s keirin finals.
After taking bronze in Glasgow, New Zealand’s Marc Ryan will be the rider to beat in the men’s pursuit, while New Zealand duo Jamie Nielsen and Lauren Ellis will have their work cut out for them to beat Adelaide hero and Commonwealth champion Annette Edmondson.
Capping the night’s program will be the women’s Keirin final with Meares, Morton and Ward expected to clash with Schofield and McKenzie. The men’s omnium with Freiberg and Law also gets underway.
FRIDAY 10 OCTOBER
Afternoon Session 11.00am, Evening Session 6.00pmThe women’s Omnium gets underway on Friday afternoon with Edmondson and Ankudinoff in action, while the men’s Omnium is one of five finals to be decided during the evening session.
The sprinters will take to the track for their marquee event with Glaetzer sure to be the home-town favourite in the elite men’s competition. However, he will face a strong contingent of Aussie riders including 2012 Olympic medallist Perkins and rising star Schmid, and New Zealand’s reigning Commonwealth champion Webster and bronze medallist Dawkins.
Meanwhile in the U19 women’s sprint, look out for 2014 junior world champion Courtney Field.
SATURDAY 11 OCTOBER
Afternoon Session 12.00pm, Evening Session 6.00pm
The final day of racing is packed full, with nine finals decided in the afternoon session and across the evening.
The men’s Madison will be a highlight of the afternoon, while the women’s sprint competition will light up the boards with Meares and Morton expected to shine.
Fireworks are expected from the big men like Perkins, Glaetzer, Webster, Dawkins and Archibald in the men’s keirin finals, while the women’s omnium and the points races concludes the Championships.

Tickets
Tickets are available at the door for all sessions, and cost $15 per day for adults and $5 for concession card holders. Children under 12 are free.
