ALPINE SKIING: Katie Parker and Louis Muhlen have continued their recent strong form as they build for the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games with some positive alpine results at Sugar Bowl in California.

The pair, who both go to school at the Sugar Bowl Academy, took part in two Giant Slalom and two slalom events as they claimed a total of four podium finishes between them.

Parker earned third place in both Giant Slalom events finishing behind the USA’s Haley Cutler by just over a second in the first race and a little over three seconds in the second race.

Having crashed out on the second run of the first giant slalom event, Muhlen bounced back to secure a victory by 0.13 seconds over Canada’s Joseph Young in the second event.

It was a tougher start to the Slalom competition for both skiers who both crashed out in their opening event.

Parker more than redeemed herself in the final event of the weekend crushing her competition by 2.6 seconds to claim the top step on the podium.

Muhlen also performed strongly finishing fourth and was the top ranked YOG eligible athlete.

The pair will continue their preparations in California before heading to the second Winter Youth Olympic Games in early February.

In Lillehammer, Muhlen and Parker will compete in Super G, Combined, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Parallel Mixed Team event.
