In his first full World Cup season, Dale Begg-Smith skied to his first top ten placings, finishing seventh in Madonna di Campiglio and sixth in Deer Valley, as well as recording two other top 20 results.

Michael Robertson was remarkably consistent for much of the season, racking up five consecutive top 15 placings and one other, and also taking the third top ten result of his career.

In his debut season, Nick Fisher placed 14th in Ruka and had two other top 20 results, and Jason Begg-Smith had a career best 24th In Mont Tremblant

For the women, Manuela Berchtold produced her first top ten placing, an eighth in Lake Placid after qualifying in fifth place, then followed up with a tenth place in Deer Valley.

Jane Sexton also had the best World Cup result of her career, a 13th place in Ruka.

And to top off the fine performances, SAL/NSWIS Development team skier Davina Williams made her first top twenty result in the second World Cup event of her career when she joined the team at the end of the season in Inawashiro, Japan.

“It was a very successful year for us,” said Geoff Lipshut, the OWI Executive Director.

“The team established very good building blocks for the future, and produced some very strong results.”

“We have a world championship year coming up next season, and this past season has been a good lead-up for that.”

“We have identified the areas we need to work on, and over the next few months we will be training on the water ramp in Lilydale to work on the team’s jumps, which are such an important and developing part of mogul skiing now.”
