Australia’s national junior hockey team has won their division at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in Bulgaria.

Australia’s national junior hockey team has won their division at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in Bulgaria.

The team went through the tournament undefeated, including a 6-3 win against a strong Chinese team.

Three players received individual awards for their play throughout the championship, Jeremy Muir named Best Goalkeeper, Alex D'jamirze collecting the Best Forward accolade and James Keane racking up the highest points for the event. Thomas Powell was voted Australian player of the tournament.

As a result of the victory, the junior team will now move up to Division 2 for next year's championships.
