Road Cycling – Tour de France
This Saturday 29 June marks the start of the most prestigious road cycling event of the year, the Tour de France.
The 21-day race starts in Florence, Italy and will take a non-traditional route to the finish line in Nice, France.
Six Aussie cyclists are set to hit the roads including 28-year-old Jai Hindley and 29-year-old Chris Harper who are both returning for their second Tour de France after making their debuts last year.
Former green jersey winner Michael Matthews is lining up for the eighth time and is eager to win his fifth overall stage on the Tour.
Marking his 10th appearance, Luke Durbridge is set to mark his decade of competing in the Tour de France after he debuted in 2014.
Victorian Jack Haig heads into this year’s Tour de France as a co-leader and will support in the mountains for his team’s leader, Santiago Buitrago.
The 2020 U23 road race national champion, 25-year-old Jarrad Drizners is ready to make his debut as he forms part of the lead-out for the team’s sprinter Arnaud de Lie.

Tennis – Wimbledon
The third Grand Slam of the year is upon us, with qualifying for Wimbledon playing out ahead of the main draw singles first round starting on Monday 1 July (AEST).
Alex Bolt and Olivia Gadecki have won their way through qualifying to secure a spot in the main draw, joining some of Australia’s Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Team Olympians in round one.
The draw is set to be conducted on Saturday 29 June (AEST).
