Rugby 7s – SVNS Series Final
The final stage of the SVNS Series will see the men’s and women’s rugby 7s teams competing in Madrid, Spain from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June.
The women’s team is currently sitting in second position on the ladder, just two points behind New Zealand. They’ll play against Ireland in their first pool game tomorrow at 9:51pm AEST.
The men’s team are in fourth position on the ladder, 10 points behind New Zealand in third and 23 points behind first place holders, Argentina. They’ll face off against France in their first pool game on Saturday 2 June at 3:05am AEST.

Basketball – Opals vs. China Series
Coming off a 72-70 nailbiting win over China yesterday, the Opals continue their three-game China Series campaign tomorrow Friday 31 May at 9:30pm AEST.
The best-of-three series will conclude on Sunday 2 June at 9:30pm AEST with the Opals playing their last game against China before they meet again in early July in Melbourne.

Hockey – FIH Pro League
The Hockeyroos are coming off a penalty shootout loss 2 (2)-2 (3) yesterday, against the host country Belgium, with the Kookaburras also going down to Belgium 5-1 in the FIH Pro League.
Both hockey teams are up for a busy week of double headers against Argentina.

Weightlifting – Oceania Elite Tournament
Aussie weightlifting athletes are competing against fellow Pacific nations in Hawthorn, Melbourne as part of the Oceania Elite Tournament.
Women’s 81kg 2023 Pacific Games champion Eileen Cikamatana is competing in the tournament.

Surfing – WSL Tahiti Pro
Ethan Ewing and Ryan Callinan are the last Aussie surfers still standing in the World Surf League Tahiti Pro which is due to finish tomorrow Friday 31 May.
They will compete in the round of 16 with Ethan up against Kelly Slater (USA) and Ryan against Hawaii’s Barron Mamiya.
Molly Picklum and Tyler Wright each made it to the quarter finals before being defeated.

Athletics – Diamond League
The sixth stage of the Diamond League commences tomorrow Friday 31 May in Oslo, Norway with Aussies competing in four events.
The women’s 3000m will be raced by Australia’s new national record holder Jessica Hull, Lauren Ryan, Rose Davies and Georgia Griffith.
The men’s 1500m will be headlined by national record holder Oliver Hoare and Stewart McSweyn.
Catriona Bisset is taking to the Olso track competing in the women’s 800m where she’ll compete against the competitive Mary Moraa (KEN) and Keely Hodgkinson (GBR).
With 2024 shaping up to be a year for Matthew Denny, after throwing a national record and personal best at the recent Australian Athletics Championships, he is set to compete in the men’s discuss in Oslo.

Golf – US Women’s Open
Aussie golfers Hannah Green, Sarah Kemp, Stephanie Kyriacou, Minjee Lee, Keeley Marx and Gabriela Ruffles are taking to the Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania, United States from 30 May 2 June to compete in the US Women’s Open.

Tennis – Roland Garros
The first round of the doubles competition is set to play out from today Thursday 30 May with 10 Aussies contesting the cup.
The second round of the singles competition at Roland Garros is kicking off this week with Thanasi Kokkinakis (world no.100) and Alex de Minaur (world no.11) still alive in the men’s competition.
Thanasi is up against the Italian Giulio Zeppieri (world no.148) whilst Alex will play against the Spanish Jaume Munar (world no. 64).
