En Route to Paris 2024: Divers and swimmers compete to represent Australia at the Olympics, last chance for kayak cross selection and more

Diving – 2024 Australian Open Championships

Day 2 of the Australian Open Diving Championships start today Thursday 6 June, with the rest of the competition running through until Sunday 9 June in Adelaide, South Australia.


The championships include Paris 2024 nomination events in the women’s and men’s 10m platform and 3m springboard.

Canoe Slalom – Kayak Cross Global Qualification Event

The final chance for Aussies to earn Paris 2024 quotas for the kayak cross event gets underway from Friday 7 June to Sunday 9 June in Prague, Czech Republic.


There is one quota available per country with the top three eligible athletes per gender at the event earning their country a quota spot. 

Already qualified athletes may compete but cannot earn a quota.

Swimming – Australian Swimming Trials

The Australian Swimming Trials launch on Monday 10 June, running until Saturday 15 June in Brisbane.

The event is a direct qualification event for swimmers striving to make the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Hockey – FIH Pro League

The Kookaburras and Hockeyroos are currently in Lee Valley, England to compete in the FIH Pro League ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 


Both teams will face double headers against Great Britain and Germany between Saturday 8 June and Thursday 13 June.

Kookaburras vs. Great Britain – 8 June at 11:30pm AEST

Hockeyroos vs. Germany – 9 June at 7pm AEST
Kookaburras vs. Germany – 10 June at 2:15am AEST

Kookaburras vs. Great Britain – 11 June at 12:30am AEST
Hockeyroos vs. Great Britain – 12 June at 2:45am AEST

Kookaburras vs. Germany – 13 June at 2:45am AEST
Hockeyroos vs. Germany – 13 June at 5am AEST

Shooting – ISSF World Cup

Rifle and Pistol

The ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup held in Munich, Germany finishes on Saturday 8 June with Aussies competing in the finals to secure quota spots for Paris 2024.

Rifle and pistol shooters Dan Repacholi, Sascha Kroopin, Elena Galiabovitch, Olivia Cartwright, Jack Rossiter and Dane Sampson are competing in their respective events.

Shotgun

The ISSF Shotgun World Cup starts Monday 10 June and runs through until Wednesday 19 June in Lonato, Italy.

Shotgun shooters Joshua Bell, Penny Smith, Catherine Skinner, James Willett, Mitch Iles and Aislin Jones are representing Australia at the competition.

Surfing – WSL World Championship Tour

Event seven of the WSL World Championship Tour gets underway from today Thursday 6 June in La Libertad, El Salvador with six Aussies contesting the event.

Paris selected athletes Ethan Ewing, Jack Robinson, Molly Picklum and Tyler Wright are accompanied by Liam O’Brien and Ryan Callinan in the heats of the competition.

Badminton – Australian Open

The Australian Badminton Open starts next Tuesday 11 June and runs through until Sunday 16 June in Sydney, New South Wales.

Paris 2024 selected athletes Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu will compete in the women’s doubles with Tiffany Ho contesting the women’s singles event.

Tennis – Roland Garros

After Alex de Minaur’s defeat from Alexander Zverev (GER) in the quarter-finals of the men’s singles, one Aussie remains in the 2024 Roland Garros French Open.

World no.2 ranked men’s doubles pair Matt Ebden and his partner Rohan Bopanna (IND) set to take on the semi-finals against the Italian pairing of Bolelli/Vavassori.
