More medal chances present the Aussies on day six of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Seven Australians will be in action across four sports today, with Snowboard cross taking centre stage.
Snowboard
The men pick up the Snowboard cross action from the women at the Zhangjiakou Genting Snow Park.
Aussies Jarryd Hughes (a PyeongChang 2018 snowboard cross silver medallist), Cam Bolton, Adam Lambert and Adam Dickson will all compete in the seeding runs and the 1/8 finals.
The 16 best ranked athletes after the first seeding run will be given a top 16 seed for the 1/8 finals respective of their results. The remaining 16 athletes will compete in seeding run two which determines the order of the bottom 16 seeds. The best of their two runs will be used to carry into the 1/8 finals.
All the seeding runs, 1/8 finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals, small final and big final are held on the same day. The snowboard cross seeding runs start at 2:15pm AEDT, with the 1/8 finals starting at 5pm AEDT.
Skeleton
Western Australian Nick Timmings will get underway in the men’s skeleton competition at the Yanqing National Sliding Centre. Of the 25 athletes in the field Nick will be one of the last to get his first heat, looking to carry his good form into Olympic competition. He had a top 20 finish at a 2021 World Cup event in December.
Nick will take part in four heats over two days, with two runs per day. Medals will be awarded to the quickest overall combined times.

Figure Skating
The men’s single skate program will continue from where it left off on Tuesday at the Capital Indoor Stadium, with the commencing of the free skating round. Brendan Kerry features for Australia after nailing his short program to score 84.79 and qualify in 17th place.
For the free skating program, athletes perform an original arrangement of techniques to music of their choice. The scores of the short program and free skating are added to make an individual total, with the highest overall scoring skaters winning the medals.
Brendan will be live in the session from 12:30pm AEDT.
Cross-Country Skiing
Jess Yeaton and Casey Wright will be back on the course at the Zhangjiakou National Cross-Country Skiing Centre for the women’s 10km classic.
Both athletes will be hoping for another day of warmer air temperatures and no strong winds when tackling the experienced field with 98 competitors.
Athletes being one at a time on 30-second intervals, with the best-ranked skiers the last to start. Skiers race against the clock and the winner is the competitor with the quickest time.
Jess Yeaton is set to start at 6:17pm AEDT and Casey Wright begins at 6:40pm AEDT.
