Six Australians will be in action on day five of the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, with Belle Brockhoff and Scotty James on show.
Snowboard - Cross
Belle Brockhoff and Josie Baff are set to compete in the women’s snowboard cross qualifying, buoyed by the bronze medal success of snowboard teammate Tess Coady in the women’s slopestyle.
Athletes that make it through qualifying in the afternoon will have short turnaround for the night final.
Belle, a three-time Olympian, comes into the event full of optimism and more at ease with the Olympic experience on her third time around.
"I feel better than ever,” Belle said.
“[At my] first Olympic Games, I was a little bit of a Labrador puppy. [At my] Second Olympic Games, I had an injury, but I’ve had a really good run [this time around] with the team and we’ve done things as best as we could.
“My body feels better than ever, especially the mental side of things. I learnt a lot of things from the (knee) injury and if I went back in time, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Seeding runs for snowboard cross begin at 2pm AEDT. All competitors from the seeding runs are entered placed into a bracket for the finals. The first 1/8 final will begin at 5:30pm AEDT. Watch live on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Snowboard - Halfpipe
Snowboard halfpipe, one of the events which holds great anticipation at the Winter Games, gets underway with qualification for the men and women.
That means we’ll see Olympic veteran Scotty James, competing at his fourth Olympic Games, and 16-year-old compatriot Valentino Guseli in the men’s event.
Emily Arthur is our sole competitor in the women’s competition, which is the event Torah Bright claimed gold in at Vancouver 2010 and silver at Sochi 2014.
Scotty will be going for gold after his bronze medal success at PyeongChang 2018. The 2019 world champion and four-time X Games winner, who took at the competition again last month, is content both on and off the snow.
“I would say I’m definitely in a really good headspace,” Scotty said.
“I'm super happy on the mountain but also away from the mountain, and I think you become a product of who you surround yourself with. The vision is clear.”
Emily’s first qualifying session begins at 12:30pm AEDT and Scotty’s first qualifying session begins at 3:30pm AEDT.
Alpine Skiing - Slalom
Australian alpine skier Katie Parker is free to make her Olympic debut after consecutive PCR test results came in negative overnight.
Katie will compete in the Women's Slalom with the first runs starting at 11.50am Beijing time and a second run this afternoon at 3.40pm.
Her delayed departure from the United States due to ongoing positive tests resulted in her name coming off the starters list for Monday's Giant Slalom.
However, after returning the required negative tests for travel, she boarded the plane hopeful of making the Women's Slalom competition.
Watch live on Channel 7 and 7plus.
