"On behalf of the Olympic Movement in Australia I send my deepest condolences to Jim Stynes’ family and friends. As an athlete we admired his tenacity and endurance as he established a record for consecutive games played in the AFL.
His most recent battle against cancer touched the entire sporting community.
Jim Stynes was an inspiration to all on and off the field of play."
