Andrew Burton has qualified for tomorrow's final of the halfpipe World Cup in Lake Placid, New York State.

Ben Johnson and Nathan Johnstone, both making their World Cup debuts, finished in 20 and 26th place respectively.

Burton finished in sixth place in the qualifying round, scoring 40.4 points in his best of two runs to book a place in the 12-man final.

Ben Johnson's best run earned 25.0 points from the judges, while Nathan Johnstone's best was 17.0 points.

US rider Steven Fisher easily topped the qualifying round with 44.2 points.
