Craig Branch has missed a result in the super G in Kitzbuhel, going out before the halfway mark of the Streifalm course.

Branch will line up in the famed Hahnenkahm downhill on the same course this evening, AEDT, hoping to register his second World Cup points result for the season.

The Kitzbuhel super G was won by Liechtenstein’s Marco Buechel in a time of one minute 15.44 seconds, 0.26 seconds ahead of Austrian legend Hermann Maier.

It was Maier’s first World Cup podium since December 2006, and Buechel’s first super G vitory since February 2003.

Bronze went to Didier Cuche of Switzerland, who stretched his lead on the World Cup super G rankings.
