The Australian Olympic Committee has welcomed today’s announcement that Nine has confirmed a sub-licensing agreement that allows the ABC Local Radio network to broadcast the 2024 Paris Olympic Games to listeners in Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Canberra as well as local ABC radio stations across regional, rural and remote Australia.

The deal will extend Nine’s unparallelled coverage of the Paris 2024 Games to ensure Australians can access live radio broadcasts of all the action from Paris.

Australian Olympic Committee President Ian Chesterman said this deal would bring inspiring Olympic moments to an even wider Australian audience.

“This is a great result to ensure every Australian has access to live coverage of our athletes as they proudly compete on the Olympic stage in Paris,” he said.

“The Olympic Games unites Australians in support of our Team, and this deal ensures that no matter where you live, as you go about your daily chores you can listen in to all the action as it unfolds.

“Many of our Team come from regional centres right across the country and the ABC reach is huge. So we are delighted that even more Australians will have the chance to tune in, to follow the their local heroes, and to hear our next chapter of Olympic history as it happens.

“Thank you to Nine and ABC for your collaboration to bring the Olympic spirit to all Australians.”
