The AOC has congratulated paddler Jess Fox on being crowned overall Canoe Slalom K1 World Cup champion in La Seu, Spain.
After winning all four previous World Cup events this season to build a solid points advantage, Jess secured the overall World Cup championship despite finishing outside the finals in La Seu.
She finished the season on 304 points to take the title, well clear of Britain’s Mallory Franklin in second on 217 points, with Czech Tereza Fiserova in third on 214 points.
The win caps an impressive season, which included World Championship silver in both the C1 and K1 in July, as well as winning World Championship gold in extreme slalom, which will make its Olympic debut in Paris 2024.

AOC President Ian Chesterman applauded the 28-year-old on her outstanding results.
“Congratulations to Jess on adding overall World Cup K1 champion to her stellar list of achievements,” Mr Chesterman said.
“To stay at the very top of her sport over so many years is a credit to Jess, her family, supporters and the entire team at Paddle Australia.
“Jess proved in Tokyo she is a champion of the highest calibre, and with less than two years until Paris 2024, she continues to demonstrate why she is the most successful paddler of all time.
“Not only does she achieve extraordinary things in her sport, she finds time to make a great contribution as a member of the AOC Athletes' Commission and also globally as a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission. We are very proud to have her as part of our Olympic family and congratulate her on her amazing accomplishments this season.”
