ASICS and the AOC have unveiled the Australian Olympic Team delegation and competition uniforms for Paris 2024, at the iconic Yurong Point (Mrs Macquarie's Chair) in the Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

Australian Olympians and Paris 2024 hopefuls from across the Olympic sports debuted the ASICS uniforms to be worn during the Games.

Every piece of the 2024 Olympic uniform features iconic Australian green and gold colour schemes and incorporates an Indigenous print, making this the largest integration of Indigenous artwork on athlete uniforms in Australian Olympic history.

Designs by Olympic boxer and Wakka Wakka Wanyurr Majay, Yuggera man Paul Fleming, as well as Torres Strait Artist, David Bosun, are weaved throughout.

Titled 'Walking Together', Fleming's artwork signifies the Olympics as a central meeting place that brings people together from all countries, backgrounds, and cultures.

Bosun's 'Ngalmun Danalaig (Our Way of Life)' artwork captures the main elements of traditional and modern ways of life in the Torres Strait.

The apparel also incorporates a new Japonism Yagasuri (arrow pattern) graphic that represents strength, steadfastness, and determination, with the arrow motif signifying forward momentum, as once shot, it never comes back.

Chef de Mission of the Australian Olympic Team for Paris Anna Meares was thrilled to see the ASICS uniforms revealed to the world.

"Thank you to ASICS for creating a world class uniform for our Australian Olympic Team," Ms Meares said. "ASICS have worked closely with our Olympic sports and athletes to develop a uniform that not only looks fantastic but suits the sporting needs of each of our Olympic sports.

"So many iconic Australian sporting moments played out in ASICS kit at the Tokyo Olympics, and I cannot wait to see the new sporting history Australian athletes will create in Paris in these uniforms.

"We are proud to work with ASICS and the artists to feature Aboriginal and Torres Strait artwork throughout the uniform, bringing the stories of these designs to a global audience of billions. Thank you to ASICS for your collaboration and commitment to excellence, to help ensure Australian athletes can perform at their best on the world's biggest sporting stage."

Olympic rugby player and Dharawal man Maurice Longbottom was one of 11 athletes who debuted the uniforms in Sydney today.

"I'm incredibly excited to represent Australia in my ASICS green and gold jersey," Longbottom said.

"It fills me with enormous pride to represent my country on the world stage, wearing a uniform which incorporates Indigenous design to showcase our rich cultural heritage, uniting us as one."

Managing Director ASICS Oceania, Mark Brunton, welcomed today's launch.

"As a sports performance brand, ASICS believes in the positive power of sport and movement - that it can transform us individually and as a community," Mr Brunton said.

"At ASICS, we are committed to supporting athletes at all levels to reach their full potential, and through our proud partnership with the AOC we can truly bring this commitment to life. It is with great pride that we see the Australian Olympic Team once again donning ASICS uniforms as they prepare to represent our nation on a global stage."

In developing the uniform, the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS) considered the temperature and weather conditions that athletes will face in Paris, with the uniforms featuring an advanced ventilation technology optimised specifically for the summer Olympic Games.

Ensuring the uniform helps all athletes perform at their best, every item of apparel has been specifically tailored to suit the range of motion needed for each individual sport, which was a significant undertaking with the Australian Team expected to reach 460 to 480 athletes from more than 30 sports.

The AOC Athletes' Commission provided feedback throughout the process, with ASICS collaborative approach ensuring athlete's performance is paramount.
