Dual Olympic medallist Alisa Camplin has announced her retirement from aerial skiing.
The Salt Lake 2002 gold medallist and Torino 2006 bronze medallist has opted not to compete in September's World Cup Aerials in Mt Buller, bringing to a close the most successful career in Australian winter sports history.
Camplin made the announcement in New Idea magazine, saying that "Torino was a fairytale ending, so it seems the perfect place to finish".
"It's quite sad because I could have easily continued for another four years, but I've achieved everything I've ever wanted from the sport."
As well as her history-making back-to-back Olympic medals, the 31-year-old Melbourne skier leaves behind a remarkable record that includes ten World Cup victories, two World Cup titles and a World Championship title.
