The final day of Grand Prix 1 (GP1) was dominated by Western Australian athletes with Alana Nicholls and Steve Bird completing the K1 and K2 200 doubles.

Curtis McGrath also demonstrated why he is the paracanoe V1 200 world champion.

Bayswater kayaker Alana Nicholls defended her K1 200 GP1 title in Adelaide today.

The 28 year old won in an impressive time of 41.97, 0.76 seconds ahead of fellow Western Australian Jaime Roberts.

Sunshine Coast paddler Alyce Burnett held off Cat McArthur for third in 43.38.

Nicholls went on to complete the 200 metre double combining with Roberts to win the K2 event in 38.75, 1.86 seconds ahead of Burnett and fellow Queensland paddler Alyssa Bull.

Local favourite Cat McArthur and Hannah Minogue finished third in 40.86.

Canning River paddler Stephen Bird won the hotly contested K1 200 A final in a blistering time of 35.92.

Fellow Western Australian Brodie Holmes collected the silver, 0.49 seconds behind Bird, with Encounter kayaker Ben Gallard finishing third in 36.53.

Like Nicholls, Bird went on to complete the double combining with Holmes to win the K2 200 final in 33.05.

Reigning champions Todd Brewer and Lachlan Tame had to settle for silver, 0.99 seconds behind the winners.

Wildwater star Rob McIntyre demonstrated his versatility teaming up with Sunshine Coast kayaker Kurt McAleenan to take home the bronze.

Marius Florian concluded his GP1 campaign in style adding the C1 200 to his C1 500 and C1 1000 victories.

The Penrith Valley paddler crossed the finish line in 47.54, 1.45 seconds ahead of Jace Bayliss. West Lakes canoeist Jason Nejman finished third, 0.89 seconds further back.

In a West Lakes battle royal Bayliss and Ben Keogh finished 2.22 seconds ahead of Thomas Clarken and Gabriel Tramaglino to win the C2 200 final in 48.58.

Bayliss, Keogh, Clarken and Tramaglino also contested the C4 200 recording a time of 44.57.
