CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Jess Yeaton and Casey Wright will be strapping on their skis and braving the elements again on day six of competition at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Heading out to the Zhangjiakou National Cross-Country Skiing Centre, both athletes will line up for the women’s 10km classic.
Athletes being one at a time on 30-second intervals, with the best-ranked skiers the last to start. Skiers race against the clock and the winner is the competitor with the quickest time.
Jess and Casey, wearing bibs 35 and 80 respectively, will have a challenge on their hands against 96 competitors. Jess will be aiming to improve her ranking from PyeongChang 2018 where she finished 41st. As will Casey, who has an Olympic personal best of 81st place in South Korea.
Having experienced the harshest of conditions with extreme cold and wind earlier in the week, the slightly warmer conditions and afternoon sun will hopefully help Jess and Casey for their race as they aim for the podium.
Jess is set to start at 6:17pm AEDT and Casey begins at 6:40pm AEDT. The first competitor is on at 6pm AEDT.
