Tara first started playing ice hockey when she was 9, however, it wasn’t until she watched the game at the Winter Olympics on TV, seeing how fast and skilful the players were, that she decided to pursue the sport seriously.
The 15-year-old was a member of the gold medal winning team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship in Dumfries, Scotland and considers her coach Joey Hughes her sporting hero, describing him as incredibly talented, hardworking and dedicated.
